Hart to Heart Counseling
Jessica Hart MA LPC, LLC
Feeling stuck? At a crossroads in your life? Even the strongest among us can feel lost, unsure, ambivalent, or unhappy at times. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I can help you understand and manage whatever life throws at you, and how to do it successfully. It takes a great deal of courage and vulnerability to take the first steps towards healing. I believe that you have the strength not just to survive, but to truly thrive.
About Me
I practice from a Person-Centered approach and specialize in Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness techniques, Biofeedback, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Movement/Walk & Talk Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. I utilize multi-modal techniques to treatment as therapy is not always "one size fits all”. With a background and education in counseling, behavioral neuroscience, and coaching I am able to serve my clients in a wide variety of areas of support through the use of talk therapy, ecopsychology, addiction treatment, and biofeedback. My therapeutic work experience includes serving clients from teens to geriatric end of life issues. I spent the past several years working with patients and families dealing with advanced medical illnesses while also working part time as a psychometrist and school counselor. I provide support to heal anxiety, depression, anger, grief, substance use, and trauma.
Achieve Your Goals
Support That Makes a Difference
Individual Psychotherapy Session
Embrace Life’s Challenges
For children, teens, and adults. Individual therapy sessions are truly tailored to YOU. Depending upon your preference, we will work together using a variety of theoretical perspectives and coping tools to tackle life's challenges. Common topics addressed include anxiety, depression, trauma, mood issues, chronic illness, grief, codependency, narcissistic abuse, life transitions, and more. Sessions are either in-person (dependent upon potential Covid regulations) or via telehealth platform.
*Please note that the therapist reserves the right to determine if sessions are in person or virtual based on the current climate of the pandemic.
Walk & Talk Therapy
Mindfulness in Motion
Take your session outdoors! Walk & Talk Therapy is a unique approach that combines the benefits of traditional talk therapy with being in nature. Research suggests that there are numerous benefits to being outdoors including helping to ease stress and further enhance the healing process. Sessions are held year-round at local parks, the beach, on the water paddle boarding, or more! You may even want to bring your leashed furry pal to your sessions. I am American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certified and a licensed coach. An intake session in person or via telehealth is required first where confidentiality and specific documents will be addressed. All Walk & Talk sessions will be monitored via LiveTrack GPS system.
Creative Counseling Corner: Youth Group Therapy
Increase Resilience
Expression, individuality, and acceptance are the at the forefront of these therapeutic support groups. Participants will engage in positive peer therapeutic activities while learning coping skills to increase emotional resilience. Activities range from art, music, play and other creative expressions. Groups will be separated by grade/age based on elementary, middle, and high school and based on availability.
Biofeedback
Build the Mind-Body Connection with Science
Biofeedback is a non-evasive, mind-body therapeutic technique and tool that teaches the participant how to control the body's physical responses to stress. Biofeedback is often used to manage symptoms of stress, anxiety, ADHD, chronic pain, and more. We work together in session to employ relaxation techniques like breathwork, meditation, visualization, progressive muscle relaxation, and guided imagery to calm your body's physical arousal. An ear sensor is used to capture your Heart-Rate Variability (HRV) data. This data gives accurate, in-the-moment readings of your heart-rhythm patterns while you view visual images that react to your ability to effectively utilize coping skills. I utilize the HeartMath EmWave Pro Biofeedback System.
